Day three of the 2016 Telstra Perth Fashion Festival descended its audience into a far away land with rolling hills of green and snow capped mountains as international label Whole9Yards took us on a romantic journey.
Attending the Australian debut of the brands Spring Summer 2017 collection, it was clear to see how growing up on a flower plantation has influenced Designer and Creative Director Daniel Ngoo’s garments. Slightly ethereal and subtly delicate, the intricate features of the fashion complimented the models fresh-face beauty and wispy fly aways as they strolled down the runway in exquisite lace and floral motifs.
Pretty polka dots and fun, flirty hemlines in pastel shades kept the collection ultra feminine, whilst the unexpected teaming of floral embellished denim with lace, added a sophisticated edge. This intriguing element of cool was referenced in various garments throughout the collection; a particular highlight was the appearance of bomber jackets constructed out of organza and lace.
A romantic and whimsical gown worn by super star Simone Kerr concluded another successful evening of fashion, where the audience was treated to the delights, designs and fashion culture or our international neighbours; of which we hope to see more of gracing the Australian runways.
