Early on a sunny morning, Melbourne’s fashion kids gathered at the new Bared Footwear store at High Street Armadale. The light and airy store had partnered with Ishka to create a “wanderlust” theme. The unpolished floorboards were adorned with textured Moroccan cushions and silks draped from the ceiling like a Bedouin tent.
Within a giant honeycomb installation sat an array of stylish leather shoes. Immediately my eyes fell on a pair of nude summer sandals with criss-crossed ankle straps and a touch of leopard print across the foot. They would look fantastic with a white summer dress at the beach or with light ripped jeans for the Spring.
With an upcoming holiday to the States, the flats really caught my attention. They look as if they will support a full day shopping in New York then later on, be rockin’ at a bar or dinner. There is no way a Stylehunter can wear runners in the global fashion capital like a tourist! But which shoes? There are lace up brogues in leopard print calf skin or a marbled blue leather. Bared even had different colours in laces to add an extra style dimension. The flats with the buckles from patent black, white to a soft green are also totally on trend.
All of the shoes were made of the finest materials from quality leather, calf skin and wooden soles. They have the appearance of being made by Italian craftsmen: beautiful, well-made, fashionable. I’m almost afraid to tell you how comfortable they were. Even wearing sandals my feet felt cushioned and supported. Since when have style and comfort gone in hand in hand? They do now!
The extraordinary store staff fitted us all for shoes. Educated on fit, their passion about the brand flowed through. They had one lady hotted up in pink mid-heels, another in black city-luxe sandals. Everyone was excited trying on shoes, feasting on the absolutely delicious healthy breakfasts from We Are Combi, and even having pedicures and a mini yoga timeout with Sammi Veall from Yoga 213.
