The alarm on my internal style clock has been on snooze. The fashion calendar says Autumn/Winter but the temperature gauge in Brisbane continues to hover somewhere around summer.
With the turn of the new season, I am instantly ready to move summers’ sandals to the back of my wardrobe, bringing out the boots front and centre and just this week, while the days remain beach worthy, there is a crisp chill to the morning air, and the nights are finally a bit “nippy”.
While most of us ease into the season with an ankle boot, as the temperatures fall, the height of the boot will rise and the question that needs answering this season remains. What length will you go? Will you camp out at the knee or head to Amazonian inspired thigh heights?
The beauty of the boot lies in it’s versatility. It signifies our fashionable entry into the new season and breathes new life into those pieces that we are not quite ready to pack away in t0 the depths of our wardrobes; those lightweight dresses and skirts, your one teaspoon cut off denim shorts.
A great pair of boots is to your AW15 shoe collection, what the crisp white button down shirt is to your everyday; an anchor to style.
The perfect pairing with this season’s midi skirts and the ultimate compliment to blanket wraps and capes; seriously chic paired with tunic styled dresses or kept classic with a fitted suede trench, this season your styling options are a dream.
Off duty, give your jeans new legs and ground your feminine look with the contrasting texture and weight of leather or suede.
