Melbourne Spring Fashion Week: Designer Runway One debuted a number of key seasonal must-haves from the spring/summer collections of Anaessia, Aurelio Costarella, Carla Zampatti, Dom Bagnato, Gwendolynne, JASONGRECH, nicolangëla and Michael Lo Sordo.

JASONGRECH kicked off the night with elegant, feminine gowns in an emerald green, plum, black and cream colour palette. Feminine, floor length dresses bearing daringly high slits and traces of delicate lace were prominent in this figure-flattering collection.

Aurelio Costarella brought red carpet glamour with models donned in dark metallic and feathers amongst an array of sweetheart shaped bodices and lacy, embellished leotards.

Duster coats cinched in at the waist, blazer and trouser coordinates and a whole lot of pastels were made perfect for the forthcoming season by Michael Lo Sordo. Long line pieces in loose draping silhouettes and soft, delicate fabrics brought a fresh, laid-back feel to the runway.

Skirts with racy slits are definitely a favourite for this season with Carla Zampatti also exhibiting this key feature in her striking black and white garments with asymmetrical necklines, bare back and cut out elements.

Dom Bagnato presented dapper suits with a vintage twist, using powder blue and musk pink monotone ensembles, window pane prints and bright coloured bow-ties.

A predominantly cream collection by Gwendolynne was a favourite amongst guests as minuscule jewels and intricate details adorned intricately feminine silhouettes.

Playing with detailed laser-cut fabrics, sports-inspired mesh and elements of leather, Nicolangëla showed it’s all about the décolletage with dresses featuring a variety of plunging necklines, halterneck and structured corset-like busts.

Anaessia rocked the runway with edgy, ballet-inspired tutu skirts, metallics, lace, and a multitude of textures. Models strutted the runway with ballet slippers in hand as the bubble skirt was revived and floral, princess-like dresses graced the stage.
