Fashion Society NYC Street Style Event – Queensland, Kaitlyn Ham
Dance floors transformed into runways for the night, with local Brisbane labels Faith & Lola (of Princess Polly), Shirley Fracture Couture, Speak No Ink and Black Milk Clothing all coming out to party, with most hitting a catwalk for the very first time.

The evening’s looks were styled as though the models were strutting the streets of New York City, with edgy (and somewhat risqué) combinations, intricately stenciled body art, bold statement accessories by Brisbane jewellery label Sistaco, and a whole heap of attitude carving up the runway.

Of course, the mesmeric beats of local hip-hop group Dirty Mob and UK fashion icon DJ Mamy Rock also helped to set the stylish mood, with the latter having DJ’ed at Paris Fashion Week and Karl Lagerfeld’s Chanel Party in the VIP Room at the Cannes Film Festival. Yep, certainly no shortage of fashion cred there.

There are sure to be plenty of similarly fashion-forward events coming up for Brisbane courtesy of Fashion Society, so be sure to check out their official website and Facebook page to keep up to date with future shows.
Supporting the Brisbane fashion industry never looked so good.
