Monocle Magazine’s Country Fayre – Chimere Cisse, London
Being a London city dweller one can often feel removed from the goings on of our rural neighbours. However the other weekend, we urban folk living in London were treated to our very own slice of country life courtesy of über cool, international lifestyle magazine Monocle at their inaugural Monocle Country Fayre.
Flower binding, goat petting and delicious food were abundant at the Marylebone offices of Monocle as the magazine’s favourite brands and nations came together to host stalls, showcase products and entertain the chic festival crowd.
Brands such as Comme Des Garcons, Granger & Co, Muji, Daunt Books, All Press Coffee and international embassies including Denmark, Sweden and Wales, all contributed to Monocle’s uniquely global take on the traditional English fayre.
I came away from the Monocle Country Fayre not only wishing that Monocle would host the event monthly, coveting a new orange Comme Des Garcons wallet AND wishing I could keep baby goats in my apartment, but also thinking god damn that Monocle is just too cool. Only Tyler Brulé could pull off a country fayre in the middle of London with the same style that permeates every page of Monocle.
