Ralph Lauren 2012 Fall Menswear Collection Launch
Last week I attended the Ralph Lauren 2012 Fall Menswear Collection
Launch event. Held at the Art Gallery of South Australia
– a perfect brand alignment – guests entered through the gallery itself and were able to take in the beautiful artwork on display.
Having lived in Adelaide most of my life, I have never actually been to the Art gallery and it was absolutely beautiful with some breathtaking pieces of art work to view; including paintings, sculptures, and installations.
Guests were then greeted with Veuve Clicquot
champagne on arrival and amazing cocktail food. The actual function was held in the restaurant part of the gallery and the entire room was decked out in stunning hedges, dark chocolate brown furniture and hurricane lamps – oozing a rustic, old school feel to the venue.
Midway through the event, a styling session was presented by the head of Menswear Buying for Ralph Lauren – Christian Wyer
, and Stylist/Sunday Mail Fashion Editor – Mirella Romano. Together they talked through the key looks and trends for the season in an informal conversation, with models showcasing the looks.
My favourite look, and signature look for Ralph Lauren, is the preppy/college look with the varsity jacket being the statement piece. Timeless and sexy, this look will never outdate and will always make a man look on trend and in the know.
Ralph Lauren is currently stocked in David Jones
in Adelaide and is yet to open a flagship store but there are rumors that it could be on the cards, which would be great for the state.
