It is already getting so much cooler and it is well and truly time to get your kids winter wardrobe in order. The following is a compilation of top Kids Fashion Trends for this winter.
I love that kid’s fashion is so tightly linked to what is happening in the grown-up fashion world. Kids love to copy their parents and I love the mini me look for kids.
Colours in kid’s fashion mimic grown-up fashion trends. A good base is to start with natural and neutral tones of taupe, gray, navy and camel. The hottest colours this season are shades of watermelon, fuchsia, citrus limes and yellow, jewel colours of red and emerald green. Black and white has also become very hip and looks great with an accent colour.
I always buy lots of tops in block colours such as red, navy, white or grey for both boys and girls and but will also get some fun tops with patterns and prints. For girls swing t-shirts with statement placement print and a bit of bling. I love striped tops in red or navy and for boys and girls.
For girls long jersey tops and jumpers that can be worn with leggings look super cute. Tops with colourful or metallic motifs such as butterflies or bows are winners this season. There are so many cool tops with hip graphic placement prints and fun designs it makes it difficult to choose.
Knitwear is a great addition in your child’s winter wardrobe: for boys big thick striped jumpers and vests and cardigans and ponchos for girls. For a classic look go for traditional looking cotton cable knit. Jumpers with cute animal motif are really popular and not only for the toddlers they are cool for the older kids too. I have seen some really cute bears, foxes and monkeys.
For pants go with stone, mustard or khaki skinny chinos or again go for bold colour. Slim track suits for both girls and boys and stretchy skinny pants in any colour of the rainbow will keep your kids comfortable and happy.
The Preppy look is so cute on kids and is perfect for special occasions. A little navy blazer and with a white shirt and dark denim jeans is very cool. The simple checked shirt is a classic and that is here to stay. For a more updated look and a bit bolder go for black and white gingham or black with white spot looks great team with yellow jeans and a stripe true know jumper in charcoal, a classic look that always looks smart for a special occasion.
Dresses are a staple for girls and jersey dresses with layered skirts are cute and comfortable and are they can be work with either plain or patterned leggings or tights.
The tutu trend for girls is still going strong and it is not to be saved only for special occasions. Tutu’s can be worn every day whether it is the supermarket, daycare and for dress up parties as well.
Girlie girls love anything with a feminine touch, so choose something with a bit of bling. Anything goes in girl’s fashion from glitter, lace, crystals or fringing. Make sure you have some sequins and sparkles. Go for appliqués and embroidery in pink, gold or silver metallic such as stars and hearts motifs.
For keeping warm quilted puffer vest and anorak are the best options and so many great colours available. For girls there are block colours or floral and for boys go for dark block or primary colours.
Kids want comfort more than anything else and nothing is more cozy than a fleece track pant with matching hoodie and make sure jackets are lined in soft jersey to keep them cozy. The Hoodie has become the number one essential items for both girls and boys. For girls I love the cool fluro colours pink, green or coral and for boys burnt orange, navy or grey.
To finish the winter outfit off a stylish Coat is the perfect touch – bold colours are great. Try to find something that is waterproof. I love little mini trench coat – so chic.
