AS WINTER turns to spring, the colours of the pending summer start to blossom. But this September, the bright colours will be seen on more than just the fresh buds of the season.

Puckered pouts of reds, blues, greens and orange will be out in force, but – despite what you may be thinking – vanity will have nothing to do with it. The #selfie trademark will represent something much bigger than that perfectly puckered Instagram shot.liptemberThis September, it’s all about showing your best pout for a great cause. Liptember has been designed to help raise awareness and funds for women’s mental health. And this year’s campaign has a hefty target: $1 million.

All proceeds will go to the Centre for Women’s Mental Health at The Royal Women’s Hospital, funding programs including Safe Mothers, Safe Babies. Thanks to Liptember’s previous support, The Royal Women’s Hospital Foundation have been able to fund this tailored-made program, which is run through antenatal clinics with experts from the Centre for Women’s Mental Health.

Lifeline will also benefit from the proceeds. To participate, all you need to do is wear one of Liptember’s official lipstick colours each day for the month of September. (Like we #stylehunters needed any more of an excuse to wear lipstick everyday!)

The vibrant lipsticks will be on sale throughout participating retailers including Chemist Warehouse, and include crazy, bright colours including green, yellow and orange (we all know all you have to do is own it).
