Bondi was in top form yesterday as locals, yogi’s and surfers gathered at the Kamuka Yoga Mat pop up store to launch the collaboration between South Bondi surf photographer Beau Jones of SOBOimage and Kamuka yoga mats.
Guests were buzzing while sipping on SOFI Spritz, Pure Blonde, Batlow Cider and Pure Pops, where each of the prints were displayed as a photographic exhibition. I'm not into yoga, but after seeing these I think I might take it up just as an excuse for my purchase!
Guests included social media start up, Peazie founders Jayson Hornibrook and Jack Warwick, Nick Gulliver, Sara Jane Bray, DJ extraodinaire Jamie Vale and a special guest appearance by the amazing talent behind Rudimental, Thomas Michael Jules. Thomas even selected the Sunset Yoga Mat as his favourite of the night (I'll second that!)
Beau uses his photography skills to set the scene for an idyllic yoga practice as Kamuka provides the backdrop and foundation for printing high-definition images on yoga mats. Beau said, "I shoot to capture a sense of escape and journey. The name SOBO is derived from South Bondi. Fittingly, the majority of images are from the southern end of beautiful Bondi Beach. Working with Kamuka Yoga Mats has allowed me to incorporate my images into an activity that encompasses the same reason I shoot."
Kamuka X SOBOimage Yoga Mats will be available to purchase at the Kamuka x Vie Active pop up shop in Bondi for the month of March. The images are exclusive to Kamuka and you won't find them anywhere but on your yoga mat.
