In what was possibly the most decadent night of fashion that Perth has ever seen, no extravagant contemporary affair will ever quite live up to classical elegance and opulence of last night’s enticing soirée - The Art of Fashion, the closing event for the 2016 Telstra Perth Fashion Festival. A night of sensory overload as a private orchestra provided the soundtrack for the soulful sounds of WA Opera performers whose voices caressed over the music filling the vast space of the beautiful WA Art Gallery. The air was perfumed by the fragrant floral creations by Rebecca Grace from Natural Art Flowers as the spotlight was shone on WA`s talented fashion designers.
A selection of WA’s most progressive designers produced the artwork for the evening proving that fashion is as much of an art form as the paintings that grace the galleries walls. Glistening and glittering gowns in all kinds of rich fabrics, colours and prints descended the grand staircase, revealing a string of intricate and outstanding designs. Majestic head pieces precariously placed, accentuated the bejeweled accented (and sometimes completely covered) faces of the models and they glided across the marble floors. Each look was completely over the top and unique as if pushing the envelope of the creative journey.

The whole TPFF team should be congratulated for an absolutely stunning exhibition of our local talent. I look forward to seeing the bigger and better things to come for next year’s festival.
Until next year.
